Horseriding in Pemberton

Horseriding in Pemberton

Just north of Whistler, the village of Pemberton is a horse lover’s paradise. With more horses per capita than anywhere else in British Columbia, it’s no surprise that the community is steeped in equine culture. Surrounded by forests, rivers, and breathtaking mountain views, Pemberton offers the perfect setting for unforgettable horseback riding adventures.

From beginner-friendly trail rides through the Valley’s creek and forests to immersive multi-day backcountry excursions that explore the old gold mining history, there’s a ride for every level of experience. Many experiences go beyond just riding, inviting guests to connect more deeply with the animals through groundwork, grooming, and horsemanship practices.

The valley’s connection to horses is also celebrated at the annual Lil’wat Nation Rodeo, where riders showcase their skills in a spirited display of cowboy culture, community pride, and athleticism.

And as you explore the area, keep an eye out for the free-roaming herd that calls the Pemberton Valley home. Keep your eye out as you drive North of Highway 99 - they sometimes pop up around the road so drive slowly!
