Tourism Pemberton Welcomes Three New Board Members, Strengthening Community Collaboration

Tourism Pemberton is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Travis Peters of N'Quatqua Economic Development Office, Melanie Montgomery, Motel Operations Manager with the Lil’wat Business Group, and Sara Bartlett, owner of The Flower Wrangler.

These appointments mark an exciting step forward in Tourism Pemberton’s commitment to strengthening relationships with local First Nations and celebrating the diverse skills, voices, and leadership that define the Pemberton Valley’s tourism community.

“Tourism in Pemberton operates at its best when focussed on culture, and collaboration,” said Gus Cormack, Executive Director of Tourism Pemberton. “We are deeply honoured to welcome Chief Peters, Ms. Montgomery, and Ms. Bartlett to our board. Each brings unique knowledge, and passion for our community that will strengthen our shared vision for a sustainable, and authentic destination.”

Travis Peters, representing N'Quatqua Economic Development Office, brings strong leadership and cultural insight rooted in community stewardship and respect for the land. His guidance will support Tourism Pemberton’s continued efforts to promote responsible tourism and a deeper understanding of Indigenous history and traditions in this region.

As the Motel Operations Manager with the Lil’wat Business Group, Melanie brings extensive experience in tourism and hospitality, along with a passion for fostering connections between community members, small businesses, and local organizations. Representing the Lil’wat Business Group on the Tourism Pemberton Board, Melanie is committed to advancing the Group’s vision of “taking our rightful place in the economy.” By serving as a liaison between Tourism Pemberton and the Lil’wat Business Group, Melanie aims to contribute through listening, learning, and meaningful collaboration—building strong partnerships that support sustainable growth and community prosperity.

Sara Bartlett, owner of The Flower Wrangler, brings a creative and entrepreneurial spirit to the board. As a small business owner, she exemplifies the vitality of Pemberton’s local economy. In addition to running her floral business, Sara contributes her expertise to other local nonprofits through fundraising, event management, and annual giving campaigns. With more than nine years of experience in digital media and marketing across the tourism and wellness sectors, she is a welcome and valuable addition to the board.

“The addition of Travis Peters, Ms. Montgomery, and Ms. Bartlett is an exciting moment for Tourism Pemberton,” said Andy Meeker, Chair of Tourism Pemberton. “Their leadership and perspectives reflect the collaborative, and forward-thinking values our board aspires to represent. Together we’re looking forward to helping curate a tourism sector that benefits everyone in the Pemberton Valley.”

Together, these new directors bring valuable skills and lived experience that reflect the heart of the Greater Pemberton community and the region’s growing tourism identity.
