Pemberton & 2010 Winter Games

2010 Olympics

The eyes of the world will be focused on British Columbia in 2010 when Vancouver and Whistler host the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Ideally located just north of the Host Mountain Resort, Pemberton & district offers the perfect home base for your access to 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games events and venues.

The Perfect 2010 Gateway

LOGO 2010 Winter Games

Just minutes from most venues, Pemberton will be bursting with action and activity in 2010.

And Pemberton & district offers a wide range of outdoor adventure activities and family-friendly recreation for those moments when you’re not cheering on the world’s best.

Our location north of Whistler can provide easier road access to the games.

Pemberton Winterfest

Winterfest TPemberton and district is celebrating our area, winter and the 2010 winter games with the annual Pemberton Winterfest celebrations.

From the Olympic Torch Rely in Pemberton on February 6 to the following two weeks of great events we're ready to come together and have a great time. Come celebrate with us!

The Excitement Has Already Begun

The Sea to Sky corridor is alive with the energy and anticipation of the Games right now. Visit the completed Olympic venues for year-round guided and self-guided tours!

2010 Ski Racer STry out the ski venues for yourself with a run or two down Whistler Mountain’s Dave Murray Downhill or head to the Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley (35 minutes south of Pemberton) and explore more than 40 kilometres of incomparable cross-country trails.

Tour the towering ski jumps, or watch athletes from around the globe compete in World Cup and World Championship events at the Olympic Venues – Feel the 2010 excitement today!

Getting to Pemberton & district is simple, and by June 2009 the Sea to Sky Highway will have been upgraded by a massive, multi-million-dollar improvement project.

Currently, the highway is open and fully accessible with only the occasional short delay or pre-scheduled closure. Once the project is complete, the mountain highway will be straighter, have more passing lanes and enhanced monitoring for winter weather maintenance.
