Slow Food Cycle Sunday Donates to Pemberton Food Bank

Tourism Pemberton Marketing & Event Manager, Carlee Cindric, officially handed over the 2022 Slow Food Cycle Sunday $1000 ‘community organization’ donation to Loralee Seitz, Sea to Sky Community Services Food Bank Coordinator on Monday, November 28.

Partial proceeds from the Slow Food Cycle Sunday event are earmarked for donation to a community group and/or program with roots in food, farming and community.

Loralee explained that the majority of funds received by the Pemberton Food Bank come from grants and local donors. The Slow Food Cycle Sunday donation will be put towards direct food purchasing from the Lil’wat Nation’s organic farm – Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten (Mosquito Garden).

A perfect match and quite fitting, as this supports both the Pemberton Food Bank and the Slow Food Cycle Sunday’s vision and goal of growing local, purchasing local, and feeding local.
