Join us at the Pemberton & District Community Centre this Sunday, July 27 and help us cheer on the participating athletes in IRONMAN Canada. Athletes will be heading to Pemberton via Highway 99 early in the morning with the first athletes expected to arrive around 9AM.

During this stage of the race athletes will be competing in the second of three phases of the race, the biking portion. The best time to catch the riders heading through the downtown area is from 10 AM until 1 PM. Riders will continue to pass through town between the hours of 9 AM till 3 PM.

Residents are encouraged to come out to the road and support the athletes by cheering them on. You can cheer on the athletes anywhere along the side of the road starting from Highway 99 and going all the way through town. We just ask that you give the athletes their space and cheer from the side of the road not on the road.

Pemberton Race Route

Athletes will make their way into town via Highway 99. Once they arrive in Pemberton they will take a left at the set of lights and head along Portage Road. Once they reach the roundabout they will take a left heading towards the Pharmacy and new Community Barn. Riders will take a right onto Frontier Street, left onto Campus Street then head up the Pemberton Meadows Road for 40KM. The athletes will complete a loop up the Valley then head back to Whistler to complete their final stage, the running stage.

Pemberton Cheer SectionThis year the Pemberton & District Community Centre will serve as the Pemberton Cheer Zone headquarters. The Community Centre is a great place to watch as athletes ride by during the bike portion of the event. There will be a large screen airing live coverage of the event at the Pemberton Community Centre Cheer Zone. You can also find food and drinks at the community centre. Come join us anytime during the day. As previously noted the best time to watch the athletes ride by is between 10 AM and 1 PM.
