Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween in Pemberton this year? Well, the first thing you need to do is find yourself a costume! You can either purchase one (check out the awesome shops in Pemberton) or make your own (which is always a lot of fun). You don’t have to have the problem of being all dressed up with no where to go because you can do the following this Friday, October 31:
The Glen is a great place for the kids to go trick or treating. There is nothing like a Halloween neighborhood party where everyone is wearing costumes! So, dress up and come trick or treating in The Glen. This is a very child friendly event where the community gets together to celebrate. Due to the large amount of kids that trick or treat in the Glen there is a need for large amounts of candy/treats to hand out. You can help by donating candy at any of the collection boxes found at Signal Hill Elementary, Pemberton Secondary School or the Pemberton Valley supermarket. Remember, there are many people who live all over Pemberton so trick or treating will be all around town but The Glen is a popular spot, which is why we are highlighting it!
The Pemberton Legion is having a party! Once the kids are tucked in bed why not take your costume to The Legion. Doors are at 9pm and there is a costume contest with prizes. This is a 19+ event and there will also be live music. Tickets are available at the Legion, Pemberton Esso, and Pemberton Valley Supermarket. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and includes first beverage.
If you haven’t done so already, make sure to stop by The Pemberton Valley Lodge because they are holding a "Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin’ contest. The person who guess is closest to the actual weight of the pumpkin will win 1 FREE night stay at the Lodge. If you don’t have a chance to make it to the Lodge you can enter online at pembertonvalleylodge.com/pumpkin. This contest closes at 11:59pm on Saturday, November 1st so there are only a few days left to enter.
We share safety tips all year long but here are a few that are especially important on Halloween:
- Don’t trick-or-treating alone. Walk in groups of two or more or with a trusted adult.
- Wear a reflective strip and have a flashlight so that drivers see you.
- Look both ways before you cross the street.
- Be aware of firework going off and use caution if you plan to use them.
- Watch out for lit jack-o-lanterns.
- Stay hydrated.
We’d love to see how you spent your Halloween so don’t forget to share your pictures on social media using #Pemberton, send them to us on Facebook or on Twitter! Tourism Pemberton wishes you a happy and safe Halloween!...
