It's January 21, and we're still mountain biking in Pemberton. A quick call to the Pemberton Bike Co. confirmed that trails look good now and into the immediate future if the weather holds.

The Perfect Pemberton Winter

Pemberton Mountain Bike Trails

It's still early days, but so far this winter, we've had epic snow (76 centimetres in 72 hours at nearby Whistler/Blackcomb) and days mild enough to make our epic mountain bike trails ridable.

A recent blog post by Ina Bits  gave tribute to the trails and the great people at Pemberton Bike Co who helped out with the fat tire bike rentals and details of where to go & what to see. By the way, that link goes straight to their Facebook page, which they let us know is the best way to stay up-to-date with what's going on in Pemberton Mountain Biking.

And as of today, what's going on is lots of riding. Trails are open, and things look clear. So do what many Pembertonians do best: take a day to shred the pow in the morning, then head home to Pemberton to shred some more on the mountain bike trails.

With $120,000 Invested...

in our mountain bike trails alone, you can be pretty sure there's some epic riding going on in the valley. It's both the fact that the village chose to devote that much money toward the trails and the fact that there are already people living in the Pemberton area who see this as an important financial investment that makes this place such a mecca for biking. The people at the Bike Co, for example, have been doing their thing for over 20 years. They're happy to help you out with which bike to take at this time of year, which trails to ride and which to avoid, and generally point you in the right direction.

Bike Friendly Accommodation

If you choose to take a weekend to come to Pemberton and experience the ski/bike extravaganza that is this winter, there are many places in town who are happy to accomodate bikes and people. The Pemberton Valley Lodge welcomes cyclists and is consistently rated the best hotel in the area. If you prefer a Bed and Breakfast, The Log House Inn is a good choice for cyclists as well.
