So What is the Pemberton Winterfest all About?
Once upon a time, Pemberton was the last frontier to gold country and it still attracts the type of people who want to explore, adventure, and play in a world with no limits. Not to mention, discover the wealth of white gold. Winterfest brings it altogether. Winterfest engages the whole community in a vibrant atmosphere during this unique small multi-cultural celebration. Down home hospitality and great entertainment celebrate winter during this family friendly festival you won't want to miss.
Pemberton is Whistler's northern neighbor. You know - Whistler, home of the last Winter Olympics. Most sought after skiing destination in the world. Home to thousands of travelers and seasonal workers and renowned party zone. I bet if I'd said Squamish... you'd say "Oh ya we drive through there on the way to Whistler"
Few who make the pilgrimage to Whistler ever go far beyond it. Held in by its seductive grasp. But only 20 minutes away there is a small town, vibrant and simmering with culture. Pemberton is a very different town to Whistler; more modest, relaxed... more homely. But no place is immune to the winter rush. The droves of tourists, the cold and the snow. But this is part of the lifeblood of these towns.
Winterfest in Pemberton pays homage and respect to the mighty winter. It brings us all joy, prosperity, beauty and most of all - FUN! That's what Winterfest is all about.
