The future of food is local!
The annual Slow Food Cycle is just a month away on Sunday August 21st. This is a very special day in the Pemberton events calendar.
The whole of Pemberton joins together to celebrate locally grown food, the farmers, the beautiful Pemberton valley and just to enjoy a relaxing summers day pedaling on the open road with friends and family.
The Slow Food Cycle starts in the center of Pemberton and follows the Pemberton Meadows Road. The full ride is just over 50km round trip. Along the way you can stop to meet local growers, farmers and sample produce fresh from the field. There will be 12 farm families, countless artists and musicians and over 30 vendors of delicious food and drink.
Make sure you bring a bag, bike basket or panniers and cash to purchase the great produce, baked goods and other treats on the way. The event is free.
The Slow Food Cycle is expected to see 3,000+ riders come out and experience this amazing event. This event is well known throughout the Sea to Sky corridor and boasts to “blows the fast-food drive-through away!”
The Slow Food Cycle starts at 8 a.m. Farms shut down public access at 4 p.m. There will be an AugustFest Beer Garden in Pioneer Park following the ride from 3 to 7 p.m.
