Writers

Susan ReiferSusan Reifer is an award-winning journalist and passionate non-fiction storyteller. Her feature articles – more than 200 to date – have appeared in publications as wide-ranging as Outside MagazineSports Illustrated WomenSKI MagazineLos Angeles and United Airlines’ Hemispheres. As a career writer/editor, her background includes stints in investigative reporting (for the L.A. Weekly and Barron’s), as a celebrity profiler (for In Style and Redbook) and in new media (for E! Online and Microsoft Network). During the Olympic Winter Games of 2002, she worked in the heart of the action as a bureau chief and editor for the Olympic News Service. She also has worked extensively as a researcher for print, television and film, and as a facilitator for corporate brainstorming sessions.

Lisa RichardsonLisa Richardson - Lapsed lawyer, aspiring yogi, freelance writer and occasional PR hack: Lisa knew she'd found her happy place in Pemberton when a cowboy rode past and asked "which way to the beach?" Spotlighting local eccentricity for 5 years as CBC's community reporter, Richardson juggles magazine deadlines, tries to get enough time skiing, mountain-biking and rock-climbing, to keep pace with her neighbours and figures she will be truly free of her suburban upbringing when she is canning her own vegetables. First, she has to learn to grow them.

Katherine FawcettKatherine Fawcett is an award-winning freelance and creative writer who enjoys the trails, the fertile soil, and the eccentric, generous and high-spirited people of Pemberton. She is the authour of a children's book about dogsledding called Mushkid: A Tale of Dogsledding, Friendship and Drool, and co-authour of A Whistler Bear Story, due to be released in December, 2009. Fawcett has won numerous literary awards for her short fiction and creative non-fiction, and has contributed to magazines and newspapers across Canada. She lives with her husband, two children and a gang of sled dogs just outside of Pemberton.

Natalie LangmannNatalie Langmann is a third-generation editor and free-lance writer, and is currently managing editor to Canada’s newest snowboard magazine: King Snow Magazine. When she's not out riding pow—with over a decade and a half of Whistler seasons under her belt—she can be found holding the pen while staring out at the ever-so-majestic Mt. Currie from her home office in Pemberton.

Todd LawsonTodd Lawson is a writer, photographer and passionate traveller. He is the Associate Publisher of Mountain Life Magazine, and is  founder and President of the Sean Lawson Young Travellers Foundation and Motos Against Malaria.
